Classes

Guitar, Percussion, Recorder Ensemble

Level 2-3 Guitar, Percussion, and Recorder students play together and an ensemble.

String & Wind Orchestra

Students in Level 2-3 or Flute, Trombone, Trumpet, Cello and Violin play as an ensemble.

Prerequisite: Musicianship Class

Chorus

Students will learn to sing and develop their voices, learn to read notes to use their voice in a healthy manner, sing with expression and sight-read music.

Baile Folklorico

Students will learn balance and develop a sense of how the body moves through traditional Mexican Folkloric dance movements.

Ballet

Students will learn balance and develop a sense of how the body moves through basic movements.

 

Level 1 – ages 4-6

Level 2 – ages 7-9

Modern Dance

Students will learn balance and develop a sense of how the body moves through basic dance  movements.

Drum Class

Level 1 – ages 7- 9

Level 2 – ages 10+

 

Students will learn various rhythms and percussion techniques, while being creative and gaining a strong sense of identity as part of a group.

 

Electronic Keyboard Lab

Students learn the basics of the piano in a laboratory with electronic keyboards.

Flute

Students learn the basics of the flute and to play as an ensemble.

 

Prerequisite: Musicianship Class

Guitar

Beginning Guitar, ages 6 - 18

The basics--learning the parts of the guitar, basic chords, tuning and reading tablature.

 

Beginning Guitar II - ages 6 - 18

Students improve their technique. 

 

Intermediate Guitar - ages 9 - 18

Students continue to  improve their technique and work on both acoustic and electric instruments.

 

Prerequisite: Musicianship Class

Musicianship

Students learn to read notes, rhythms, and musical terminology.  All music students are required to take this class.
